Key Responsibilities & Tasks

  • As an Aerodynamicist you will support the aerodynamic development of future vehicles.
  • Using CFD tools and physical testing you will perform analyses of external and internal aerodynamic flows to deliver data driven innovative solutions.
  • You will develop design features and components to meet the functional requirement of multiple departments including vehicle dynamics, powertrain, thermal & cooling and the design studio.
  • As part of the delivery of the whole vehicle attribute you will input aerodynamic expertise in cross functional project teams, ensuring an appropriate level of understanding is provided to allow effective attribute balancing.
  • You will write technical reports and present results to a business wide audience.
  • You will contribute to the ongoing development of department’s capabilities & processes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Aeronautical degree or Mechanical Engineering degree specialised in Aerodynamics.
  • Experience with Commercial or Open source CFD software including Pre and post processing tools.
  • Hands on experience of physical track and wind tunnel testing.
  • A thorough knowledge of aerodynamics in a similar role with either F1, an OEM or as an outsourced partner.
  • Knowledge of physical testing data acquisition and testing techniques.
  • Data processing skills suitable for large data sets. Ideally a good understanding of technical computing languages, e.g. MatLab or C.
  • CAD skills would be advantageous.
  • You will be highly motivated, results will be data driven, organised with a meticulous approach to tasks with good communication and documentation skills. You will have strong team skills and produce results within fixed timelines with minimal supervision.
  • The successful candidate will undertake other duties as may be required to achieve the Company’s objectives, commensurate with the grading of the post.
