This role at Aston Martin exists to deliver safety Electronics content (e.g. Restraints controller, Radars, OCS) as defined by AM8/cross car line product strategy.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Define and agreed targets and validation plan for safety electronic content on programmes (e.g. Restraints controller, OCS, Radars, Cameras)
  • Ensure delivery of safety electronics features and sensor hardware to targets, budget and timing constraints
  • Ensure safety electronic content meets internal functional safety requirements
  • Deliver safety electronic systems electrical integration
  • Drive engineering issues resolution to meet program targets and constraints
  • Liaise with and manage external partners/suppliers to deliver content
  • Liaise with project team, electrical team and other engineering functions to deliver active safety content
  • Conduct safety electronic related testing (including full vehicle, sub-system and component testing)

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Good Electrical/Electronic Engineering degree (or equivalent) minimum 2.1
  • Experience of Safety electronic features in automotive applications
  • Experience of automotive electrical integration work
  • Experience of automotive industry functional safety requirements (ISO26262)
  • Experience of worldwide automotive regulations (ECE/FMVSS etc)
  • Good working knowledge of vehicle CAN/Flex ray structures
  • Intuitive knowledge of fundamental electrical/electronic engineering theory
  • Excellent IT skills and working knowledge of MS word/Excel etc
  • Excellent problem solving abilities
  • Self-starting and self-motivated
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Able to learn quickly and integrate into a successful and dynamic team
