Engineering Contracting Company based in Cheshire, looking to recruit an Environmental Advisor for various National Grid sites in the UK, ideal for a recently graduated person or for those with some experience, salary offered will be commensurate

Roles and Responsibilities:
Perform a wide range of Environmental tasks to include but not limited to the following:
General:
• Implement the requirements of Integrated Management System ‘at contract level to meet the requirements of ISO 14001
• Develop, implement and monitoring Environmental Management Plans and Site Waste Management Plans to maintain compliance with legislation and contract requirements
• Support operational teams in the production of internal and external reports
• Develop and deliver environmental and sustainability training including the CITB Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme (SEATS)
• Undertake environmental audits and inspections at contract level, at other contracts and within the supply chain
• Represent and promote the environment team in meetings, workshops, management reviews and forums both internally and externally
• Clear understanding/knowledge of industry and environmental standards/legislation
• Provide Environmental related support for projects / maintenance
• Raise Continuous Improvement Forms (CIFs) as appropriate and liaise with Client’s Environmental departments
• Ensure all Environmental documentation/records are maintained within the Company’s Combined Management System (CMS) and any customer systems.
• Ensure Environmental performance monitoring is maintained and reviewed accordingly against MoP / KPIs
• Contribute to the improvement and technical capabilities of the Company and Personnel
• Support existing, strong HSE Culture
• Good knowledge of where to obtain any information required

Person Specification:
• Degree level in appropriate Environmental discipline (ideal)  / Environmental based qualification to HNC/HND level with a minimum of 2 years relevant gas industry experience
• Associate or Practitioner Membership of IEMA or equivalent
• EUSR Passport
• Moderate IT Skills

Essential Experience:
• Good Engineering and QA/QC background
• Understanding of and familiarity with certification requirements, regulations,
• standards and specifications (ISO 900 & OHAS 18001)
• Practical knowledge and experience in Environmental Management Systems
• Development of project Environmental documentation and review of supplier Environmental documentation
• Knowledge and familiarity with KPIs and performance monitoring techniques
• Computer literate; knowledge of Microsoft Office suite essential
• Good communication and report writing skills
• Has experience in identifying and managing environmental risk and mitigation techniques on construction projects
