Job Purpose: The purpose of this role is to complete all required CAD duties to support Chassis Release Engineers.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
The key responsibilities and tasks of the role include:

  • Support Chassis component engineers with component and system designs in NX.
  • Main components will be Pedal boxes, throttle pedals, upper and lower column, column gaiter, brake booster, Chassis ECUs and sensors.
  • Model Chassis components and produce kinematic models with dynamic clearance envelopes.
  • Prepare detail drawings & models of proposed design changes to support the release process.
  • Contribute effectively to team technical discussions to ensure that the component engineers understand the effects of proposed design changes.
  • Support problem solving/quality teams as directed by management.
  • Keep abreast of technical developments within the industry, with particular reference to the evolution of NX.
  • Plan and prioritise own workload.

Qualifications & Experience:
The successful applicant will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Engineering Degree in appropriate discipline.
  • Extensive experience within an automotive or automotive components supplier group.
  • Experience working in NX.
  • Fully capable with 2D drafting.
  • Working knowledge of Suspension, Braking, and Steering systems including the use of kinematic models to manipulate components.
  • Good working knowledge of VIS Mockup and Team Centre.
  • AMPCS knowledge or equivalent process knowledge (GPDS, FPDS).
  • Able to work as part of a small team and actively participate in creation and development of innovative design solutions within the CAD environment.
  • Experience of Computer Aided Design system migration.
  • Strong time management, accuracy, diligence, ability to balance and prioritise multiple tasks to meet customer needs.
  • Knowledge in all Microsoft Office applications would be useful.
