Geotechnical engineer required from mid-April onwards for up to 16 weeks at Inverurie. Needs to be able to produce logs and has experience in CAT scanning buried services (preferably CAT 4 plus).

Duties/Responsibilities:
The purpose of the role is to provide additional experienced rail geotechnical input to the ground engineering team. Tasks will be varied including geotechnical analysis and design, site supervision, production of drawings, specifications and reports and the supervision of more junior members of the team.

The Role:
• The role is set in a multi project, multidisciplinary, multicultural environment
• Tasks will be varied including geotechnical analysis and design, site supervision, production of drawings, specifications and reports and the supervision of more junior members of the team
• Delivery of reports, drawings and other documents to strict deadlines
• Accountable for quality of own work to time and budget and those of team members as applicable
• Regular contact with site investigation contractors and external agencies
• Developing contacts with Clients
• Reporting to the Associate and team Management

Requirements:
• MEng or good civils based degree with post grad qualification in geotechnical related subject
• Chartered with the relevant body
• Good communications skills (both written and verbal)
• Significant experience in railway geotechnical analysis and design including earthworks, trackbed, civils structures and buildings
• Able to quickly develop successful client relationships (both internal and external)
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision
• Ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines is essential
• Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
