Working on site at Aston Martin's brand new St Athan site, the Maintenance and Facilities Team are responsible for the design, installation and construction of the St Athan production facility. Converting the super hangars into a modern, environmentally responsible and efficient production facility presents an exciting challenge that will play a significant role in the future success of Aston Martin.

Aston Martin have chosen the former MOD St Athan site in South Wales to manufacture its exciting new SUV.

We now have an opportunity for a Process Engineer (Paint) to join the team in preparation for phase II of this new facility.

The role will be based at the Company’s headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire for short period and will then be based permanently on site at St Athan, South Wales.

Initially the position will assist in the construction and installation of the new facility. This will involve assisting with the construction and installation of the paint booths and all painting services to be installed at the site.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Provide expert knowledge in up to date and best practice paint application technology including automated spray facilities, paint materials and hand spray equipment.
  • Oversee the paint application process (both robot and technician) to ensure delivery of effective paint services to the manufacturing team
  • Lead and support the resolution of technical process issues
  • Meet cost, delivery and environmental objectives
  • Lead process improvements to ensure continual improvement in the paint technology service provided to the business

Qualifications & Experience:

  • The successful candidate will hold a degree level qualification in process engineering or equivalent along with considerable expertise in the specialist area of paint application.
  • In addition we seek an individual who has worked in a similar environment and can demonstrate knowledge and expertise in managing the paint application processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate excellent team behaviours and strong verbal communication skills along with sound technical knowledge. The ability to negotiate, influence and operate autonomously are critical to the role.
