Engineering Contracting company based in Cheshire, looking to recruit a Plastics Construction Manager for various Projects/sites in the UK,

Roles/Responsibilities:

Manage a team of blue collar labour to deliver a range of work including projects, TARs and maintenance work for the Plastics Division, ensuring compliant delivery to the agreed HSEQ criteria, commercial and schedule performance baselines, and specific Key Performance Indices (KPIs) and Critical Success Factors (CSFs). 
Participate in the “win work” processes including discussing opportunities with customers, developing robust and pragmatic engineering solutions and estimating the costs and timescales for the work
Line Manage the blue collar workforce including resource forecasting, individual and team training and development whilst ensuring compliance and competence

Manage construction, maintenance and TAR work to ensure:

  • The Health and Safety of our people and the protection of the Environment is first and foremost in all we do.
  • Ensure that Compliance rules, policies, procedures and standards are strictly adhered to
  • Delivery is to the highest standards and complies with appropriate company standards, regulations and legislation.
  • Drive the overall safety energy within the Plastics Division including the overall Safety loop score, Management safety walks, Inspections and Audits etc.
  • Ensure the safe and compliant operation of the fabrication workshop facility
  • Develop Method Statements and Risk Assessments as required ensuring thoroughness and consistency
  • Deliver all works to a high standard utilising industry knowledge of a range of materials including GRP, PP/GRP, GRE etc
  • Industry best practise is identified and implemented within Plastics Division
  • Ensure works are completed to the agreed safety performance, standards, schedule, Gross Margin, customer satisfaction and KPIs/CSFs
  • Play an active part in the overall management of Plastics Division.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Valid UK Driving Licence and Passport as there will be requirement to travel throughout the UK and potentially overseas.

Desirable:

  • IOSH Managing Safety.

Essential:

  • +10 years’ experience in construction/maintenance/TARs.
  • The candidate will have accumulated knowledge and understanding through training and hands on experience working with various types of plastic material (e.g. GRP/GRE)
  • Experience of line management of blue collar staff
  • Strong leadership & influencing skills.
  • Customer relationship management skills.

Desirable:

  • 10 supervisory experience
  • CCNSG Safety Passport is preferred.
