Working for a British luxury automotive manufacturer, the role of Senior Parts Planner is to plan, designate and delegate workload to a team of Parts Analysts and Planners providing a high level technical scheduling, planning and expediting function for Parts Operations.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Responsible for the integrity of information relating to the company’s parts, planning balanced inventory levels and overseeing the supply of parts from internal and external sources.
  • Additional to material planning, the role provides the department with in-depth reporting and analysis on all the inventory planning, purchasing and service level dimensions.
  • To ensure value, service, and bringing to fruition cost saving, stock reduction management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • To represent the Company’s Parts Operations at all levels, both externally and internally.
  • Outputs from the role inform departmental objectives and strategy at the highest level
  • Responsibility for day-to-day monitoring of purchasing performance and workload delegation within Planning and Expediting functions

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educated to degree level in an analytical discipline
  • Experience within a planning/purchasing function, preferably within the automotive Industry
  • Experience of leading cross functional projects, as well as product and market knowledge
  • Advanced understanding of replenishment practices and relevant experience
  • Strong working understanding of demand planning theory and supply chain management
  • PC literacy: SO99 planning system, Goldcrest, DCS, VCS.
  • Ability to generate reports & metrics including use of macros within Excel and Access.
  • Sound analytical ability to be able to understand and analyse large quantities of complex data, and be able to present data and findings to audiences at all levels
  • Working understanding of logistics and global distribution
  • Ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally and with all departments
