We are assisting a leading engineering & project management contractor that specialises in the delivery of projects in highly regulated industries that include defence, oil & gas, nuclear and research.
An assignment is available for a Planner to support a large nuclear project based in Cumbria.
Roles and Responsibilities:
To develop Planning practitioner skills and knowledge to become a fully competent Project Planner.
The Project Planner is the ‘organiser’ of a project or projects. The Planner sets out, monitors, maintains and updates the project plan/programme in coordination with all stakeholders of the project. The Planner provides information to the Project Management and Design Management teams on project progress to both critical path and project milestones.
Support the Planning needs of Company
Use and maintain the planning processes, procedures and tools
Develop Project programmes
Monitor progress of Projects
Undertake performance reporting
Support production of tender programmes
Position of the Planner within the organisation:
The Planner reports directly to Project Controls Lead and works closely with the Project Services team in monitoring programme KPI’s e.g. Earned Value.
Degree qualified in a preferably engineering or project management discipline
High degree of computer literacy required
Delivery focussed mind set when working to tight deadlines
Good verbal and written communication skills
You will be analytical, organised, proactive and have methodical approach
Good listening and presentation skills
MSP (Microsoft Project) Knowledge
Essential Experience :
Ability to obtain or maintain security clearance
A full UK drivers licence is essential for this position as travelling between offices may be required
Experience of working within a team in a project-driven environment ideally within an engineering industry
