Roles and Responsibilities: • As a Highway Infrastructure Engineer/Technician you will have a degree of knowledge of developing and coordinating engineering feasibility and design of highway infrastructure systems, Section 38 and Section 278 designs. • You will need to possess the confidence, capability and relevant experience to design and deliver projects, with support from our existing highways, drainage and utilities team. You will be client facing, and possess sufficient expertise, confidence and drive.

Your brief will include:
• The ability to work to a client brief or project manager’s instruction to produce a sound engineering proposal.
• Recent experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams and coordinating interfaces with other disciplines
• Experience of being a member of a wider civils team responsible for the delivery of a wide range of development projects.
• Manage your own discrete design tasks and providing input to multi-disciplinary design teams
• Work with teams and clients to successfully navigate the design approval processes, including the discharge of associated conditions
• Demonstrate and develop your technical skills and providing assistance and advice to junior members of staff
• Control your own program of tasks and budgets
• Presenting technical advice to team leaders, project managers and clients as appropriate.
• Assist senior staff on major schemes and with business development
• Working as part of a team, translating outline engineering proposals and strategies into detailed design drawings, understanding the relationship between the project disciplines.
• Manage the delivery of individual tasks & activities to programme and budget.
Person Specification:
• Knowledge of highway design standards (DMRB) and specification (MCHW)
• Previous project experience of designing plot levels, retaining walls and highways for residential sites on ranging topography and ground conditions
• Detailed knowledge of Design Codes such as Manual for Streets
• Exercising technical skills in one or more areas of capabilities such as alignment, drainage, pavement, signs, street lighting and road marking
Essential Experience : 
• Design experience in highways and associated legal agreements e.g.S278 and S38
• Design and drafting capabilities in AutoCAD and 3D design software e.g. Civils 3D
• Chartered, or be progressing towards chartered engineer status or incorporated engineer status with ICE or CIHT
