Job Purpose: The purpose of this role is to support planning, budgeting and project execution for all fleet vehicles & programme DVP.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
Attribute delivery & management:

  • Support vehicle sign off events, evaluation drives and resolution of issues post build prior to PMT handover.
  • Arrange and vehicle drive assessments with Directors, CPEs, VET Team and key stakeholders in-line with gateway requirements and demonstration points for attribute progression/milestones. Define to the PMT’s what attributes should be presented at each drive event and ensure delivery of these attributes meet Vehicle Engineering targets. Ensure gaps to target are visible and closure plans are identified.
  • Support the Vehicle Engineering function (attribute leaders and block leaders) in delivering attribute solutions which meet targets.
  • Manage concerns and ensure they are closed within the timeframes dictated at each build phase of the programme and the closure plans and solutions meet VEM and programme targets.

Design Verification Planning:

  • Develop whole vehicle test plans to demonstrate functional and attribute performance to meet design requirements and programme targets (DV & PV).
  • Approve PWR’s for all DVP and Fleet activities to support PMT vehicle usage
  • Critique and validate individual PMT DVP’s to ensure development and S/O tests are valid, justified and meet program key gateways (PEC/FEC).
  • Ensure the programme VPP meets with DVP requirements.
  • Ensure the X1, M1, VP, TT and PP timing and vehicle quantities, specifications support PMT requirements for DVP testing, development and S/O.
  • Co-ordinate any unique parts supply required for fleet updates and liaise with workshop to ensure updates support DVP activities/timing.
  • Develop plan with RIS co-ordinator, Sales & Marketing and workshop to update any vehicles being sold post engineering use.
  • Control vehicle registration requirements for new vehicles and re-taxing as required.
  • Raise scrap notes for end of life vehicles and ensure sign off process is completed.
  • Liaise with other areas of the business which require engineering vehicles for issue resolution/training.

Programme Support:

  • Where required support Vehicle Engineering in cross-functional teams and meetings.
  • Provide status reports at Gateways in-line with Mission Vehicle Engineering deliverables on all vehicle verification activities (Vehicle, Rig and CAE) and attribute/target achievement and alignment.
  • Manage the DVP Fleet Coordinators into achieving day to day tasks including effective fleet management.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Mechanical, production or automotive Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • Experience within an automotive, automotive consultancy or automotive components supplier group.
  • Project Management experience desirable.
  • AMPCS/Mission knowledge or equivalent process knowledge (GPDS , FPDS)
  • Highly profficent Microsoft Office tools including MS Project.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Strong time management, enthusiastic, accuracy, diligence, ability to balance and prioritise multiple tasks to meet department needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to report technical and business issues across all levels
