Our client is seeking a graduate/junior electrical engineer to work on various contracts based in the North West. This role is for a skilled, focused and highly motivated graduate/junior engineer to join the Altrincham office to assist in delivering projects for various clients and in various sectors of industry. Job Role:
The position involves assisting with the design of Low Voltage systems to meet the project requirements set by the client to the highest standards of Quality and Health and Safety. You will need to be able to determine the design requirements from client specifications to enable you to produce General Arrangements, Schematics, Schedules and Block Cable Diagrams for client approval.

Main Responsibilities:

  • The electrical design of multiple medium and small projects, either disparate or grouped together under a programme of work.
  • Working closely with both internal and external suppliers and clients, you will utilise the most effective communication and negotiating skills to ensure the development of strong and long-standing relationships that help secure future work for the division.
  • Undertake design risk assessments.
  • Cable sizing and distribution requirements.
  • Working alongside the Systems Integration Engineers to provide an integrated Instrument & Control solution.
  • Ensure the electrical project delivery is to the appropriate levels of quality, on time, within budget.
  • Work closely with the Lead Electrical Design Engineer to ensure both company & client standards and project requirements are met.

Person Specification:

  • A degree, HND or HNC in Electrical or Controls Engineering or other relevant technical engineering qualification.
  • Ability to understand, problem solve and possess excellent influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Track record of design projects delivered on time and within budget.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and be able to complete electrical drawings.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of EICA type projects
  • Good computer skills and be conversant with the Microsoft Office suite in particular Excel & Word.
  • Experience in working with 3rd party suppliers
  • Uk full driving license
  • Experience in appropriate health and safety regulations (i.e. CDM, HASAWA etc).
  • Strong communication skills – both written and oral
  • Strong interpersonal skills
