Responsibilities: Assist the Mechanical Engineering Manager to deliver O&M/ I T&C aims and objectives, safely and efficiently. Implement the clients Operational Mechanical Safety Rules. Apply isolations and issue Permit to Works / Sanction for Test safety documents.


  • Review and initiate the clients Preventative Maintenance Programme.
  • Initiate the Mechanical Maintenance strategy on a variety of mechanical systems including: Pumps, Fire Mains, Compressors, Ventilation Fans and Pump Drainage Systems.
  • Represent the O&M Department at Section meetings.
  • Ensure Site drawings are accurate and up to date.
  • Produce and review Method Statements, Risk Assessments and all necessary documentation in a timely manner.
  • Attend site handover meetings, ensuring assets are compliant and fit for purpose
  • Attend Inspections and T&C activities when required.
  • Implement the relevant requirements of the Safety, Quality, and Environmental Protocols.
  • Conduct weekly Safety Tours of the Sites ensuring compliance with ATC procedures, policies and safety rules.
  • Supervise works and subcontractors where necessary.
  • Be available as part of a call out rota.
  • Maintaining records of all equipment and fault logs.
  • Procurement of spares parts and equipment.
  • Ensure utility metering is recorded on a monthly basis and submitted.
  • Ad hoc duties as and when required by the Mechanical Engineering Manager, Temporary Operations Manager and Testing and Commissioning Department.
  • Design, manage and install Mechanical Systems.
  • Assist Mechanical Supervisors in their daily duties.


  • HNC/HND in Mechanical or Process Engineering
  • Past experience in Projects or Industrial / manufacturing background.
  • Mechanical installation experience.
  • Mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of Piping and Process systems, pumps, ventilation, plumbing.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • CSCS Card Gold or Black.
  • Experience of Pressure Testing.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to solve problems effectively.
  • Time Management Skills


  • NEBOSH or IOSH Managing Safely
  • Rail or Industrial Experience
  • Electrical Knowledge
  • Mechanical Authorised Person Status
  • Legionella Awareness L8 Regulations.
  • Understanding of PSSR 2000 & LOLER Regulations.
