Due to a project award our client is looking for 5 x EC&I Engineers with proven experience of working on design project within a highly regulated industry. This will be to support a Nuclear New Build project, but candidates with experience of other high regulated/process plant related industries are very much of interest.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • To provide a design and engineering service to internal and external customers.
  • To act as the main interface between senior management and hands-on design

Key responsibilities as a Lead EC&I Engineer

  • Design and Commissioning
  • Technical Consultancy
  • Project Management including quality, progress and cost control including documentation.
  • Sales Support and Customer care
  • Manage safety

Position of the Lead EC&I Engineer within the organisation:

  • Reports to Senior Engineer or Design Manager
  • Normally manage a project involving a team of up to 3 engineering staff, although team may be supplemented from elsewhere.
  • Responsible for managing quality, progress and cost of the work carried out within the project.
  • Maybe responsible for managing project subcontracts.
  • Interacts with engineers of other disciplines internally and externally.
  • Supervises support staff.

Person Specification:
Essential:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a highly regulated industry.
  • Demonstrable competence gained in a design delivery position
  • Fundamental understanding of engineering principles is required e.g. Forces, stresses, materials selection

Desirable:

  • Expertise in the Nuclear industry

Essential Experience : 

  • Proven experience in the design delivery of projects within highly regulated/process plant industries
  • Must be able to attain security clearance
  • Proven experience in Electrical / Instrumentation / Control design projects.
