We are working in partnership with an engineering contractor which provides engineering, procurement and construction of industrial, power generation and oil and gas plants across the globe. An assignment is available for a Boiler Erection Supervisor to assist on a large Biomass Power Station based in the North East.

Roles and Responsibilities:
To ensure that the contractor allocated to his section of the scope of work operates in accordance with the safety, quality and site procedures, thereby meeting contract and UK requirements.

Key Accountabilities
• To ensure that all site operations under his supervision are carried out in a safe manner free of risk to all of the workforce.
• To plan, organise and execute the work within his scope to achieve the required level of productivity.
• To assist the section engineer to ensure the operational methods are employed to carry out the required works.
• To ensure the quality standards are achieved by implementing quality procedures advising section/quality engineers of problems with procedures and standards of workmanship and cooperation in the resolution.
• To handle effectively all first line disciplinary, grievance and performance management issues.
• To complete those administrative tasks required under the scope of the contract.

• Carry out toolbox talks
• Monitor Hazard awareness
• Implement safety procedures e.g. risk assessments, permit to work etc.
• Allocate and monitor given tasks to those under his control to achieve the required productivity
Person Specification:
Qualifications & Experience
Time served craftsman power plant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

15 years in Power Industry Sector, in construction and maintenance.

Boiler Competencies
• Previous boiler erection experience, ability to read boiler drawing and knowledge of pressure parts alignments. CFB experience
• Previous experience in setting out pressure part pipework supports and variable hangers, to ensure correcting setting and alignment of heavy wall pipework.
• Ducting sequence and installation
• Installation and fit-up of large pressure part valves, NRV’s, control valves.
• Ability to set out and route drains, vents and field run at site.
• Setting and alignment of boiler pressure parts, including headers, header supports.
• Setting and alignment of boiler elements, boiler walls and hangers.
• Previous experience in working with P91, P22, P11 alloy materials.
• Meeting targets, and ensuring that crew area productive, pre planning for following days activities, and ensuring crew have correct gear, equipment and materials in advance.
• Experience EN Boiler code 12952 -6

• Knowledge & understanding of the legal, practical and company safety requirements.
• Ability to execute work in his section to the level of productivity required under the contract.
• Knowledge of the technical requirements associated with his specific disciplines.
• Knowledge and effective application of company and client quality procedures.
• Ability to effectively manage and resolve first line industrial and employee relation issues.
• Basic understanding of company administration procedures e.g. timesheets and reports etc.
Essential Experience: 
• Previous boiler erection experience, ability to read boiler drawing and knowledge of pressure parts alignments. CFB experience
