Job Purpose: The role of the Apprentice Trainer will be to work within the Technical Academy team to provide support to all apprentices on programme and to liaise, organise and conduct reviews in conjunction with their colleges.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Provide mentoring, guidance and support to apprentices when appropriate and in conjunction with the L&D Manager.
  • Assist in the resolution of apprentice concerns through timely follow up and provide support and direction where necessary to resolve their concerns or enquiries.
  • Take an active role in the selection process for new apprentices.
  • Maintain manual and automated apprentice records.
  • Record, track and monitor progress and performance for apprentices.
  • Co-ordinate college assessor availability to assess on site with AML leaners and work with delivery staff when planning and delivering functional skills and technical certificates.
  • Co-ordinate schedule of learning pathways and review meetings with Colleges.
  • Interrogate and analyse performance data in line with the requirements of relevant inspection bodies.
  • Provide updates and analytical reports to the L&D Manager on apprentice development and progress.
  • Communicate, track and follow up on actions to be addressed on apprentice performance and development as agreed with the L&D Manager.
  • Implement, monitor and promote Peer Review and sharing of best practice.
  • Develop curriculum for interdepartmental training with department Managers.
  • Tailor training and development, working alongside Team Leaders to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Co-ordinate interdepartmental training and rotations for apprentices.
  • Responsible for administration of the Apprentice Levy account.
  • Provide a quality improvement advisory service and assurance function.
  • Prepare for and support external inspections and audits.
  • Work with the wider team to ensure a cohesive approach to apprentices throughout the business

Previous Experience:

  • Experience of working within an Employer Responsive department.
  • Experience of analysing and interpreting data and taking remedial action where appropriate.
