Our client is a leading international engineering, project management and services provider to the highly regulated nuclear, defence, oil & gas, and science & research industries. They are currently recruiting an Engineering Manager for their Harwell office to support a rapidly growing work stream of major projects within the nuclear engineering and defence sectors.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Engineering Manager’s focus is for the overall day-to-day management of engineering activities across a broad multi-disciplined team to achieve strategic business objectives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design Quality
  • Design/departmental efficiency through project delivery
  • Strategic development of resources and recruitment
  • Management of staff utilisation
  • Client relations
  • Accountability for Engineering output against quality, cost , budget and programme
  • Resource management for the department in coordination with each discipline Engineering Design Manager
  • Regular department reporting as necessary to the SEM
  • Development & progression of team members in line with career pathways

Person Specification:

Ideally you will have the following qualifications, skills, experience and attributes.

  • First degree – Masters or equivalent in a technical/engineering or related discipline. Chartered status. A full UK driving license
  • Demonstrably proactive, self-driven and assertive. High levels of influence and strong leadership capability. External Client Management
  • Chartered Engineer status is essential
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of the Nuclear Industry preferable
  • Minimum 10 years within a highly regulated multi-discipline environment essential
