We are supporting a multi-discipline engineering consultancy that works on projects in the process industries (water, oil, gas, chemical, pharmaceutical) with clients across the globe. Having been established for over 25 years, they employ industry experts to ensure they provide the best solutions to all the projects they undertake.

In line with expansion plans for 2018, an opportunity is available for a Lead EC&I Engineer to assist with a North West based Engineering Consultancy.

Roles and Responsibilities:
You will be an excellent communicator, a technical expert in your discipline, commercially aware and accountable for ensuring the accuracy and quality of our deliverables.

You will be responsible for EC&I design across various process industry projects (water, oil & gas, chemical and pharmaceutical) covering aspects such as:
FEED and Detailed Design
HV Design
Functional Safety

Person Specification:

  • Educated to a degree level
  • Must have significant experience in the petrochemicals and renewable energy industries
  • Have significant experience of working in a design and engineering environment across the three disciplines (electrical, control, instrumentation)
  • Have knowledge of HV design and engineering
  • Have experience of Functional Safety design and testing (TUV FS Certification preferred)
  • Able to perform accurate design calculations and complete cost estimates
  • Experienced in the use of AMTECH engineering and design software
  • Experienced in safety systems design and validation (BS EN 61508 & BS EN 61511)
  • In-depth knowledge of DSEAR, hazardous area classification Equipment/Design and CompEx requirements
  • Ability to control to cost and programme for, and on behalf of, the project and the client
  • Excellent project management, leadership and influencing skills, with a proven track record of successful implementation of multi-discipline projects (including large overseas projects)
  • An ability to think strategically and develop long range plans, understanding the implication of changes to contract scope
  • An ability to work collaboratively with all engineering design and construction disciplines.
