Job Purpose: To prepare and assemble body panels and body shells to the required quality standard

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
A member of a team responsible for preparation, painting and polishing of body and associated parts in line with set quality standards and business measures.

Duties Include:

  • Paintless dent removal and Training of other technicians
  • Checking, of vehicle in line with build standard and correcting as required
  • Carry out a variety of in process audits in line with laid down quality and maintenance procedures and carry out any necessary counter measure activities.
  • Assist in setting up of new quality measures including input into PQS, data capture and SPC.
  • Adhere to Work place standard procedures at all times in line with resolution of all manufacturing concerns.
  • Support quality, productivity and process improvement initiatives as part of daily requirements not an additional job.
  • Responsibility for self-management of processes that the team own or have an input into.
  • Observance of housekeeping policy and procedures.
  • Attendance at Audit to explain and raise concerns and then support corrective actions with full commitment
  • Carryout Preventative maintenance in line with schedules
  • Provide assistance and training to on line technicians as required
  • Company Quality Standards:
  • To follow process sheets and adhere to written and verbal instructions at all time to achieve the departmental customer requirements.
  • Ensure all personnel in the area follow the correct working practise in line with the safety / quality procedures.
  • Techniques for controlling and improving process – SPC, RTF, FTPM etc.
  • Adjustment to equipment, cleaning and lubrication and clean as required.
  • Carry out minor running repairs to equipment or facilities in line with the training skills matrix.
  • Keep equipment and work area clean in line with the laid down housekeeping policy.
  • Health and Safety at Work Act and AML Environment Policy.
  • Identify any time constraints, timetables, deadlines etc. within which the job has to operate.
  • Works daily to laid down production schedules in order to meet and surpass the departmental requirements in all areas.
  • Describe typical problems/ complexities in the job and the type/nature of decisions made or referred elsewhere and to whom.
  • Uses data collected to improve the overall efficiency of the process or department in line with achieving business targets irrespectively of them being hourly, daily, weekly or long term. This may include meeting attendance; future data collect or written / verbal communications with any department in order to gain concern resolution and closure       

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Willingness to learn new technology and perform at the highest level in order to meet business requirements
  • Ability to read drawing and interpret process sheets and follow processes in line with procedures
  • Can work to templates, jigs and fixtures and cycle times.
  • Understanding of metal bonding processes and machinery.
  • Relevant apprenticeship or equivalent experience to NVQ level 2.
  • Health and Safety at Work Act and AML Environmental Policy.
