Roles and Responsibilities:

  • The post-holder will be responsible for all aspects of the Project Management Office (PMO), this includes Project Management, Construction Management, HSE, Support Services, Project Controls, and Lead “Other Industries” Delivery.
  • Drive a Health and Safety culture in the organisation.
  • Develop a world class Project Management Competency Centre servicing all departments within the group. The centre needs to include People, Processes and Systems
  • Take full accountability for the “Other Industry’s Delivery” profit and loss account, including accurate reporting and forecasting
  • Implement project management governance processes and implement as BAU, also look to continuously improve the processes.
  • Set up a Construction Management competence centre to service the group. The centre needs to include People, Processes, and Systems
  • Provide leadership, and develop strategy for the various teams in the department.
  • Set up robust world class project commercial controls processes that are implemented across all departments delivering projects.
  • Set up knowledge base, processes, procedures, and reporting  to drive project efficiencies
  • Work closely with Industry Managers and Engineering Services to drive efficiency, and improvements in Project Delivery and Resource Management across the business.
  • Establish an implementation plan to drive the establishment of the department, look for continuous improvement opportunities. Part of the plan should include internal and external communications, publicity material etc.
  • Drive culture of compliance with clients policies and procedures.
  • Undertake a competency review of the PMO, and set up personal development plans as required. Look to coach and develop our identified talent
  • Ensure our delivery teams have the right people process and systems to deliver multi discipline design and build projects.
  • Provide functional home for Project Management Support Services
  • Undertake project audits and report to Leadership Team
  • Set up PMO resource management process and implement as BAU


  • Degree or equivalent in Engineering or other applicable discipline.
  • Formal Project management qualification e.g. APM Practitioner
  • Extensive experience in project management, line management, construction management and implementing significant change into an organisation.
  • Strong client and account management skills with the capability of developing opportunities for new business, lead generation and business growth.
  • Good commercial and contractual knowledge especially in NEC contracts would be beneficial
