To manage and control all programme aspects for a Carline.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Overall ownership, leadership and management of the delivery of whole vehicle programmes (concept to production) across a specific carline
  • Lead the “round table” team to ensure good cross-functional working and issue resolution
  • Ensure alignment with the Programme Management processes and procedures and identify potential improvements to enhance product quality, efficiency and timing
  • Manage the financial target creation, risks and opportunities and control for programme investment and product cost per unit
  • Lead and manage with Supply Chain, Chief Engineers, PMT leaders, AME, NMQ and Finance the on time delivery of Engineering releases (ETRS) to support programme build requirements
  • Working with the Vehicle Line Director and Marketing department to establish and manage product definition and programme assumptions
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining and the publication of SELs and PDLs to clearly communicate the programme requirements
  • Ensure BoM structure and content is aligned to product definition, robust and available to support programme requirements
  • Lead and manage the escalation of issues through the Change control process from the programme round table to the Executive Board as required
  • Responsible for scheduling and leading management of Gateway and Senior Management reviews including recommending Gateway readiness
  • Ensure all identified deliverables are understood by relevant owners and then manage issues and conflict to achieve for each program milestone within our mission process.
  • Manage the delivery of systems and components to support any prototype build requirements
  • Lead resource demand and supply evaluations to ensure all activities are adequately supported
  • Deliver concern status targets and lead the review of resulting resolution actions and ensure the implementation of corrective actions
  • Deliver robust and transparent programme metrics to demonstrate programme control and a clear understanding of any issues
  • Manage the Vehicle Programme Plan (VPP)
  • Chair and lead the Programme Steering Team (PST) to manage Programme delivery work streams
  • Support the development and demonstration of targets against vehicle attributes in conjunction with the Vehicle Engineering Manager, PMT Leaders and PAT’s.
  • Manage the programme change management processes including concerns, containments and releases.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree qualified or exceptional equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience of automotive engineering in either OEM or Engineering consultancy
  • Relevant specific automotive programme management experience
  • Low volume (<5,000 units per annum) OEM Programme Management experience
