An opportunity is available for a Senior Project Manager / Associate Director to assist in the delivery of the Associated Developments related to a large construction project.

Roles and Responsibilities:

To manage the design, development, procurement and delivery of 4 associated developments related to a large construction project. The developments will also follow the RIBA design stages and involve engagement with Client stakeholders and external third parties, responsible for delivering the RIBA design stage information. These developments will be delivered in line with the agreed programme timescale and budget.

The Associated Developments are project wide and the workstream lead will need to interface with other Client functional areas, namely the Planning, Technical Oversight and Construction Oversight throughout the stages of the project lifecycle.
The lead for these workstreams will also engage with client’s Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) Contractor, in driving these projects forward, especially in the later stages of design and development. This will be to ensure alignment with the End Client’s vision and objectives whilst also applying best practice from other major projects and not adversely affecting construction phasing or sequencing.

The Lead for these developments will use the RIBA Stage 2 information to develop and procure external services from Tier 1 contractors to undertake the RIBA Stage 3 and subsequent design and build phases. Throughout this process this will require the following:

  • Engagement across the business units
  • Consultation with multiple disciplines – Design Authority, Operations, Waste Management and Emergency Preparedness;
  • Adherence to architectural strategy, devised to support the DCO application;
  • Liaison with EPC contractor and other workstream leads such as logistics, site preparation and clearance and utilities.

As these Associated Developments progress through the next phases of design, engagement with the supply chain will be required for tendering and delivery of design and build contracts.

Person Specification:
Experience in the design and delivery of Hotels or Large Residential/Accommodation related project
Proven Leader managing full project lifecycle delivery. Must see projects to the end and be a ‘builder’.
Strong stakeholder management and communication experience
Proven experience of client liaison and relationship development.
Experience of working on projects in excess of £250m.
Be willing to travel to sites across the UK, when required,
