Our client is a leading multisector consultancy who provide engineering, management, and development services on landmark projects around the globe. Their Power, Process & Nuclear division are currently recruiting for a number of senior electrical building service engineers with low voltage (LV) power distribution system experience including various building services systems i.e. lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm systems, security systems, UPS systems, etc.

Successful candidates will be supporting a range of complex and challenging projects within the nuclear, pharmaceutical, life-science and industrial sectors.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Candidates should have the ability to work independently and to take design through from concept stage to detailed design stage including support during construction stage into project close out stage. You will be required to manage a small design team consisting of engineers and designers to deliver design packages in line with the client’s requirements.

Typically, the following duties will be undertaken: -

  • Produce, scope of work documents; site survey reports; technical specifications / user requirements specifications; and outline installation method statements
  • Provide input to programmes and quality plans
  • Prepare cable calculations (LV) in Amtech and carry out manual calculations including selection protective devices and discrimination studies,
  • Produce/supervise the production of civil electrical and instrumentation design documentation and check drawings including:
  • Attendance at relevant project meetings and workshops
  • Presenting at HAZCONs
  • Site surveys and production of survey notes
  • Liaison with suppliers and stakeholders

Person Specification:

  • Appropriate qualification in the relevant discipline e.g. MEng, BEng, BSc, HND, HNC.
  • Proven ability in delivering engineering solutions.
  • Previous experience of similar role, undertaking duties as described above.
  • Understanding of the design process and experience in all stages of design (concept, preliminary through to detail design stage).
  • Evidence of having a sound working knowledge and experience of relevant standards (BS7671 essential) and legislation.
  • Self-motivated and capable of arranging own work, able to work with minimal supervision to meet challenging client deadlines.
  • Candidates must be eligible for security clearance (SC minimum).
  • Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook), AutoCAD, Amtech (essential), Relux.
