We are working with an engineering consultancy specialises in delivering the full lifecycle of projects working in the nuclear and power industry. The client has tackled some of the largest technical and manufacturing challenges presented by their nuclear clients, from fuel cycle and power generation through to nuclear new build and decommissioning. An opportunity is available for a document controller to support the project.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • To manage all document control and administration for the project
  • Ensure compliance with all management processes and procedures.
  • Ensure that the health and safety file is maintained in a timely and accurate fashion, and assist the quality department in the management of documentation.
  • Manage the site reception.
  • Maintain and manage the site documentation and transfer relevant documents onto the online document management system held at head office as required.
  • Set Up, process and manage data, including the compilation and management of packs, Warranties, Permits, As Built Drawings and other Quality documents and drawings.
  • Updating spreadsheets within Excel, including managing and maintaining Action Trackers.
  • Timely disseminating information to relevant stake holders and Sub contractors.
  • Assisting the on-site Works Administration Centre (EHS) in processing Safe Systems of Work, Permits, Client authorisation requests and delivery notes etc.
  • Responsibility for the Safe and Secure storage of documentation and drawings, ensuring correct resources are in place to enable this.
  • Updating in-house database systems.
  • Booking meeting rooms and conference facilities.
  • Ordering and maintaining stationary / general office supplies.
  • Photocopying and printing various documents often on behalf of site management staff.
  • Assisting with meetings and updating minutes.
  • Arrange and co-ordinate any necessary training for the site team.
  • Assisting in keeping the site office clean and tidy to maintain high standards and professionalism.

Person Specification:

  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Effective communication, inter-personal and time management skills.
  • Highly PC Literate – Microsoft office, Timesheets, Expenses, Purchasing.

Essential Experience: 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a construction site based role.
  • NVQ Business Administration as a minimum.
  • Relevant experience and / or professional qualification.
  • Document Control experience essential
