They are currently seeking 2 x CNC Machinists for their Malton office in North Yorkshire.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • The CNC Machinist activities span the following key areas:
  • Production of machined parts by planning, programming, setting up and operating both manual and CNC machines.
  • Continual Improvement.
  • Safety.
  • Maintain high quality standards including keeping records, maintain equipment and supplies.

Production:

  • Plan machining operations by reading works orders, engineering drawings, specifications and other work instructions.
  • Resolving issues or queries with drawings or other work instructions.
  • Programming CNC lathes and milling machines.
  • Proving programmes and other first-off operations.
  • Setting and operating both manual and CNC machine tools.
  • Ensuring accurate routing data and other issues are recorded.

Continual Improvement:

  • Ongoing assessment of machining processes and procedures to identify and implement improvements.
  • Identifying new working methods, tooling or other systems that may improve efficiency.
  • Identify Lean and 5S opportunities.

Safety:

  • Knowledge and understanding of hazards, PPE requirements and emergency procedures.
  • Responsible for house-keeping of allocated work areas.
  • Promote adherence to Health and Safety Policy

Quality:

  • Adherence to manufacturing processes and procedures to support consistency and quality of manufacturing work.
  • Work with Production Engineer(s) and Inspectors to resolve quality issues.
  • Complete self-inspection and measuring of components prior to final Inspection.


Person Specification:

  • A recognised formal apprenticeship.
  • A wide range of precision machine shop skills and experience.
  • A thorough understanding of engineering drawings and dimensional/geometric tolerances.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • General competency in computers, CNC machine programming and computer-aided manufacturing tools.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement.
