Job Purpose: To maintain the integrity of the company’s Purchase Ledger and ensure Aston Martin’s vendor network is paid accurately whilst ensuring corporate cash is monitored against pre-determined targets.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Co-ordination of month-end payment runs for all Aston Martin legal entity vendors.
  • Provision of essential cover for the Accounts Payable Supervisor
  • Day-to-day liaison with vendors over payment-related queries
  • 1st point of contact for any pending legal letter / production stop issues related to non-payment of vendor invoices, to ensure both business continuity and avoidance of County Court Judgements (CCJs) thus protecting the company’s credit rating.
  • Resolution of any aged payable issues through regular liaison both internally across all functions and externally with AML vendors and dealers.
  • Quarterly audit of internal pre-commitment with vendors highlighting where company policy on procurement has not been followed i.e invoices received before a purchase order has been placed.
  • Prompt action to recover monies overpaid / in dispute / related to manufacturing vendor returns.
  • Set up of self-Billed vendors on the AML DCS Portal.
  • Hold meetings with AML vendors to maintain and improve the Accounts Payable process.
  • Support Cash Management reviews with the Accounting Management team as and when required.
  • Supervisor the invoice processing of at least 2 Accounts Payable Analysts.
  • Support ad hoc Accounting work in association with VAT compliance, the Sales Ledger and General Ledger.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Accounting qualification and / or experience desirable.
  • Experience within a Finance or Accounting team desirable, but more specifically and essentially experience of Purchase Ledger work.
  • PC literate with a good level of competence on most Microsoft applications and strong Excel skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft AX and Goldcrest packages desirable.
  • Good interpersonal and written / verbal communication skills.
  • Methodical and process driven mind-set with ability to present and seek feedback at all levels within the business.
