Due to continued growth an opportunity is available for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to assist the North West England Construction Team

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Working with the team and the client to develop programmes of work.
• Involvement in the estimating process for new work packages.
• Production of VE/Optioneering cost exercises.
• Ensure timely completion of the monthly contract cost report, identify problem areas and trends, report on any monthly movements and substantiate gains / deficits on each activity code.
• Establish and report on forecast final costs and forecast final recovery for each site under your commercial control.
• Liaise with Estimating department / set up the project cost allowances.
• Establish a set of site Activity Cost Codes to be used on the project and circulate as required.
• Measure and value subcontract and labour work only.
• Register subcontract payments & record Contra charges.
• Prepare and Issue subcontract documentation.
• Prepare and submit Interim Valuations as and when required.
• Prepare and submit Variations / Compensation Events as and when required and maintain register
• Prepare materials on site reconciliation with each interim measurement report showing cost versus allowances.
• Project quantities to complete in the BoQ / Activity Schedule.
• Ensure the sites are completing correct weekly coding and Labour Allocation Sheets.

They are currently seeking a Senior Design Engineer for a new Temporary Works team based within their South Manchester office. The successful candidate will take a lead role for temporary works design schemes within the north west region and will work closely with other temporary works design teams throughout the UK.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a small team composed of graduate engineers and CAD technicians to deliver well considered, quality design solutions to areas such as: tower crane bases, scaffolds, major ground retention, gantries and cabin structures.

They will use their engineering, programming, practical and technical knowledge to deliver to strict deadlines design solutions that meet our contractual obligations, taking into account:

• Current legislation
• Standards and codes of practice
• Construction methodology and buildability
• Quality
• Procurement and construction programmes

Person Specification:
Applicants will need to demonstrate skills and knowledge in the following:

• Appropriate design analysis software to suit discipline and project requirements
• Steelwork and concrete frame design
• Relevant Building Regulations (A, B, K & M)
• Microsoft office suite – particularly Outlook, Excel & Word
• Basic ability to use Autocad &/or REVIT or similar appropriate software
• Working knowledge of soil structure interaction - substructure/geotechnical design
• Team working and communication

Applicants must be motivated with a keen interest in structural, civil or geotechnical engineering and an appreciation of architecture. An interest in temporary works design would be considered desirable.

You will ideally be a chartered engineer with either ICE, IStructE or Institution of Geologists as appropriate, with two years’ post-qualification experience.

An assignment is available for an experienced Senior Civil/Structural Technician with a proven background of Revit and Building Structures Projects.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate is required to have a proven track record working as part of Civil & Structural design teams.
Client care and repeat business are intrinsic to the role you will need to demonstrate an aptitude of effective communication with our clients that supports this key business objective.
Prerequisite to the role is experience in leading Packages of work, and the ability to ensure cost effective and accurate delivery. This will be demonstrated by a track record of successful projects and contribution to departmental development.

Responsibilities
