Job Description:
You will undertake commissioning activates for both clean and wastewater sites. Electrical and ICA design of water and wastewater schemes as part of a large multidisciplinary team. Projects vary from pumping stations and water treatment plants to sea outfalls.
 

Typical duties will include:-

  • Producing documentation prior to commencement of work on site.
  • Managing and carrying hands on commissioning of automated waste and water recycling control systems.
  • Completing commissioning test documentation for handover of new assets.
  • Liaising with engineers from other disciplines, during the design stage.
  • Creating Commissioning Plans and liaising with Project Planners to establish timelines for each project.
  • Implementing and managing commissioning plans in line with framework H&S, CDM and relevant AWS operational procedures.
  • Fault finding and optimising systems.

Ideally you’re experience / qualifications will include:-

  • BTEC lvl 3 or above or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  • Demonstrable commissioning experience.
  • Working on water and water recycling site.
  • Practical knowledge of water and/or water recycling procedures and processes.
  • As site based hold a valid clean UK driving licence.

Our client is a successful and long established demolition and asbestos removal company working both in the private and public sectors. Due to the current and forecasted growth within their business, they are looking to strengthen their contracts department with the addition of a new Contracts Manager.

Reporting directly to the operations and Contracts Director, the contracts manager will split their time between our head office in Wirral and client site locations in Merseyside, Cheshire and surrounding areas. There will be occasional requirements to travel to other parts of the UK dependant on successful tenders.

You will be required to:
• Liaise and coordinate with sub-contractors and the client(s)
• Efficiently and cost effectively manage contracts, meeting or exceeding financial targets
• Produce project specification documentation (Construction Phase Plans, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Traffic Management Plans, Plans of Work etc.).
• Manage accurate project programmes
• Attend and represent the company effectively at both internal and external meetings
• Undertake internal site audits to ensure company procedures are being adhered to.
• Manage multiple projects at any one time in a fast-moving environment.
 

Requirements:
• Experience of working in industry (desirable industries include manufacturing, petrochemical, asbestos)

An Opportunity is available for a Senior Civil Engineer, with experience of Highways and Drainage for Residential, Commercial and Industrial Developments.
 

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Exercise due care and diligence in all aspects of engineering design and detailing.
• Preparation of detailed drawings and calculations to obtain technical approval for adoptable highway, or sewerage schemes in accordance with national and local authority specifications including S38 and S278 for highways and S104, S106 and S98 etc for sewerage. Projects will include residential, commercial and industrial developments.
• Preparation of private drainage layouts, external levels, geometric setting out, and construction details etc for residential, commercial and industrial schemes for NHBC or Building Regulation approval.
• Drawings to be produced using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Calculations to be produced using industry standard software i.e WinDes by MicroDrainage.
• Undertake pre-purchase feasibility studies and resolution of planning conditions including drainage feasibility and highways considerations. Knowledge of Design and implication of flood risk assessments and SUD’s techniques advantageous.
• Preparation of 3D ground models for volume calculations, cut and fill exercises, vertical road profiles etc.
• Liaise and communicate with clients and external agencies i.e. Environment Agency, Regional Highway Authorities and Sewerage Authorities etc.
• Represent the group at meetings and in writing when required.
• Assist with other Traffic/ Transport related tasks if requested by your Line Manager/Associate.
• Undertake site Inspections.
• Maintain Professional Development.
• Control the programmed performance of projects.
 

Person Specification:
• Experience of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Working Experience of WinDes MicroDrainage.
• Working appreciation of Highway and General Structures.
• Ability to manage own workload within agreed timescales.
