A vacancy has arisen for an Electrical Systems Engineer on permanent staff basis to work with our multi world championship winning F1 racing client based in the Bedfordshire area.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a world renowned brand while they compete on the world motorsport stage.

Working with their Mechanical and Electronic Engineers you will be responsible for the design, installation and specification of thier on and off-car Electrical Installations, you will also be involved in their future development projects working within multi-disciplined groups.

You will have a good understanding of the wiring, connectors and heatshrink systems used within a Formula 1 environment and ideally have a high level of experience in the use of Computer Aided Design Harness packages, ideally Unigraphics NX8.5.

You will also be required to carry out peer reviews, mentoring and coaching of the client’s developing Systems Engineers.

Skills & Experience

  • Applicants for this role should ideally have a recognised qualification in an Electronics discipline, combined with relevant experience of Motorsport Electrical and Electronic Systems.
  • You should additionally be able to demonstrate a high level of self-motivation and be able to work within a high-pressure environment.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work within tight timescales are a pre requisite for this role.

You will undertake Electrical and ICA design of water and wastewater schemes as part of a large multidisciplinary team. Typical duties include:
You will have:-

  • Demonstrable Electrical Engineering experience, preferably in the UK Water Sector.
  • A good understanding of UK standards.
  • Experience of working on MCC (Motor Control Centres) and electrical systems.

Preparation of, or supervision of preparation of:-

  • Drawings for plant general arrangements.
  • Power single line diagrams.
  • Cable block diagrams.
  • Instrumentation loop diagrams.
  • P&IDs.
  • Control system architecture drawings.
  • Cable, instrument and I/O schedules at detailed design level.
  • Production of documentation, including:-
  • User requirement specifications/control philosophies.
  • Tender documentation (including particular electrical and ICA specifications).
  • Schedules of prices and engineer's estimates.
  • HV/LV design documents.
  • SCADA and Telemetry associated documentation and engineering drawings.
