An exciting opportunity exists within one of the world’s leading luxury automotive brands for an experienced buyer to help shape and support their specialist cost recovery activities and wider procurement function.

As part of a newly evolving team focused on cost recovery, the successful candidate will be required to ensure suppliers are held financially accountable for field warranty issues arising as a result of the supply of defective goods or services in line with business procedures and objectives, whilst focusing on securing strong commercial terms and good supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Work across all vehicle commodity areas with exposure to all internal departments, suppliers, and the dealer network in order to recover appropriate costs from the supplier base.
  • Review cost opportunities from the field with the cost recovery team to take these to realisation. This will range from single warranty cases to large field actions.
  • Confidently enter into negotiations on cost recovery issues with suppliers on individual cases and larger issues.
  • Understand all current supplier’s Terms & Conditions and individual deviations to T&Cs and use this information confidently and appropriately during negotiations.
  • Support development of supplier’s Terms & Conditions for new projects and new suppliers, as part of RASIC activities, to implement learning from current contracts for new projects.
  • Have strong links to the purchasing department and keeping the purchasing management informed about warranty recovery activities and therefore guaranteeing their support.
  • Raising invoices for supplier recharges and making sure they get processed in time internally and externally.
  • Review services & service contracts for businesses supporting the recovery to drive efficiency into the system.
  • Chair internal and external meetings as appropriate in the pursuit of cost recovery.
  • Support in improving suppliers warranty procedures where appropriate.
  • Identify risks for cost recovery to management requesting support where necessary.
  • Clear reporting to management of cost recovery delivery to target.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educated to Degree level and a full member of CIPS, or at least working towards this.
  • Previous purchasing and /or warranty experience is desirable.
  • Understanding of the strategic role of the purchasing function and ability to work at this level.
  • Demonstrable ability to prioritise tasks and have effective time management and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal and negotiating skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Post holder should hold a full driving licence and be prepared to travel where their specific work responsibilities require.

Our client, a luxury automotive OEM based in Warwickshire, is looking to hire a Packaging Engineer to be responsible for all aspects of container development and container control activities.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

The main responsibilities of the role will be to co-ordinate which parts need special containers developed and which require standard rentals.

It will be the role of the Packaging Engineer to ensure the correct pallet information is loaded and maintained. They will also be expected capture issues raised with existing packaging, prioritise the list and work to find a solution.

The role is based in the production office in Gaydon and will be expected to make regular visits to production facilities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • PC literacy critical, as well as strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Need to be able to drive to suppliers and pallet manufacturers and will be expected to physically get out and see pallets / issues in site.
  • Pallet development background and a good understanding of the impact of containerisation on the entire supply chain, parts quality and production.
  • Working knowledge of the gateway process, to monitor project readiness.
  • Ability to calculate pallet loops, monitor spend and report issues status and timing plans.

Job Purpose The purpose of this role is to manage and control all aspects of vehicle engineering through liaison between Programme Manager, VLD, Chief Engineers, Prototype Operations and PAT/PMT leaders to deliver robust product within cost, time, programme constraints and meeting Vehicle Engineering led programme attribute targets.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
Target delivery:

  • Lead the development of targets for vehicle attributes in conjunction with the VLD, Programme Manager, PMT Leaders and PAT’s working from high level Marketing PALS wants down to system and component targets.
  • Lead the generation, population and management of the Commodity Progression Tracker (CPT) and review with CPE and associated PMT’s to ensure robust achievement of Vehicle Engineering deliverables at technical checkpoints including and FEC.
  • Manage total vehicle quality (including liaising with NML/NMO relating to QLAM target achievement), weight and functional objectives, report status throughout programme and deliver solutions to meet requirements.
  • Architecture & Design:
  • Lead the development of vehicle architecture types whether it be whole platform or system archetypes to ensure attribute targets are delivered.
  • Arbitrate in vehicle package discussions through the design and virtual series aspects of the programme.
  • Lead resolution and achievement of A-surface compatibility with Studio teams to ensure overall design theme is compatible with vehicle attributes. Including leading CP checkpoint events around surface releasing.
  • Work in parallel with the Virtual Verification Manager through the V0 through V4 design phase maturation process to confirm complete and compatible assumptions. Lead PMT’s into defining compatible design solutions that meet program targets.
  • Run DJ events and sign releases to ensure all parts are fit for function and meet targets.

Attribute delivery:

  • Lead attribute balancing and new technology benchmarking as part of product definition.
  • Lead Vehicle Engineering support functions (attribute leaders/block leaders) into delivering attribute solutions to meet targets.
  • Ensure attribute concerns are closed within the timeframes dictated at each build phase of the programme and the closure plans and solutions meet VEM defined targets.
  • Lead vehicle sign off events, evaluation drives and resolution of issues post build prior to PMT handover.
  • Arrange and lead regular VET drive assessments with VPs, Directors, VLDs and key stakeholders in line with gateway requirements and demonstration points for attribute progression/milestones. Define to the PMT’s what attributes should be presented at each drive event and ensure delivery of these attributes meet Vehicle Engineering targets. Ensure gaps to target are visible and closure plans identified.

Design Verification Planning:

  • Develop whole vehicle test plans to demonstrate functional and attribute performance to meet design requirements and programme targets (DV & PV).
  • Work in parallel with the Quality team to ensure PMT’s have completed DFMEA’s, P Diagram’s, Boundary diagram’s in line with failure mode avoidance requirements as inputs to vehicle test plans and DVP’s.
  • Critique and validate individual PMT DVP’s to ensure development and S/O tests are valid, justified and meet programme key gateways (PEC/FEC). Where necessary coach PMT leaders and teams on robust DVP generation.
  • Ensure the programme VPP meets with DVP requirements.
  • Ensure the Prototype build timing, vehicle quantities and specifications support PMT requirements for DVP testing, development and S/O.
  • Lead the design of prototype builds including specifications and bridging parts and take part in regular design reviews to ensure prototypes are fit for purpose.
  • Ensure adequate test parts are ordered for all builds to support DVP requirements.
  • Manage the Vehicle Engineering Fleet Coordinators into achieving day to day tasks including effective fleet management to support DVP and tuning activities.

The need for a Laboratory Analyst has arisen within the Medical Propellants Laboratory to support internal project requirements. Based in Runcorn, Cheshire, this will initially be a temporary role, but there may be possibilities for the future.

The role will be day work (Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:00), at a rate of £11.20 per hour.

The Laboratory Analyst, after training, will use several different analytical techniques: gas chromatography (both packed and capillary), FTIR, and wet chemical testing. Previous experience in these techniques would be beneficial. Extensive training will be provided and this training will be validated.

Person Specification:

As a COMAH site, Safety, Health and the Environment is paramount and all personnel on site are expected to operate to high SHE standards and to comply with all of the site’s rules and regulations.

Essential Experience:

This role places considerable demands on the analyst due to the high volume of work and the need to work to the highest standards required by the cGMP guidelines. Previous experience of performing analysis in a cGMP laboratory is highly desirable.
