Roles and Responsibilities:

• Overall responsibility on the site for the Technical, Contractual, Financial, Quality, Public relations and safety aspects of the project
• Ensure project is delivered on time, within budget and in accordance with contract documentation
• Manage project at minimum costs keeping Managers informed at all stages. Records of any variation items and accurate on site measurements when completing material requisitions.
• Actively ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulation.  Build Safely - considerate sequence of working
• Plant, Materials and Labour resource procurement and control
• Manage all operations on site including subcontractors - ensure working safety and efficiently with all trades fully directed
• Contract compliance - ensuring that the Specification , drawings and the contract documents are understood and implemented
• Client and Consultant liaison - establishing and maintaining good working relationships
• Project Planning and Programming / Monitor progress against contract programme to include preparation of short term programmes
• Enforcing Company Housekeeping Standards
• Organise, coordinate and supervise site staff
• Completion of site generated paperwork / maintain accurate site records

An opportunity is available for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing company, who are currently expanding their team due to new projects won ranging in value from £250,000 to £1 million initially.  This role will also present a longer term development opportunity for progression to Senior Commercial Manager.

• To manage, monitor and review all costs to building and civil engineering projects from the initial calculations to the final figures
• Seek to minimise costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. 
• Adhere to quality standards as specified by statutory building regulations
• Undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project works
• Assisting in establishing a client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies performing risk and value management and cost control
• Performing continual measuring and the review of contract works and recording/costing accordingly
• The preparation and management of valuations/applications for payment for completed work and arranging payments
• Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports
• Managing and reporting on any variations/compensation events and costing into the final accounts accordingly
• Managing, monitoring and reporting options to minimise costs of the project providing documented evidences

Essential Experience: 
• Quantity Surveyor within Civil Engineering & Projects supported by a HNC, HND or degree in a construction related discipline
• Proven experience working with NEC/JCT contracts
• Proven experience of managing cost and value on own projects from the moment the tender has been won
• Professional, knowledgeable and accurate reporting skills
