Section Engineer

Role

Summary

We are recruiting a Section Engineer with our client for work at Darlington Station, County Durham. This is a temp to perm role and we require someone who has previous experience of station refurbishments and works well in a team.

The Job purpose is:

To lead a section of work in a dynamic working environment as part of the civil engineering team.

Qualifications & Experience

Degree, HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent NVQ Level.

CSCS Level - Academically or Professionally Qualified Person/Supervisory/Manager.

SSSTS.

The following are desirable requirements:

Successful experience at site engineer level.

Qualified to ICE Technician or Incorporated (preferred) level or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Communicating effectively at all levels including site management, technical specialists, commercial staff, planners, engineers, supervisory staff operatives, suppliers, third parties and client representatives.

Maintaining high personal standards in health and safety & Environmental.

Driving quality delivery through effective planning

Leading, supervising and mentoring site engineering staff.

Monitoring and recording delivery against the agreed programme and construction methods. Maintaining good working relations with client, designer, supply chain and others.

Making sure that the drawings and specification documents contain sufficient, accurate information for construction of the works before commencement.

Ensuring that works are accurately and clearly set out before work commences.

Ensuring that Inspection and Test Plans and checklist are in place and followed at the appropriate stages.

Completing daily diary records and ensuring they are also being maintain by others under your supervision.

Ensuring written risk assessments and activity plans/method statements are in place prior to works commencing.

Ensuring that COSHH assessments are in place for materials to be used and that the requirements are being followed.

Carrying out other relevant duties as required from time to time.
