The Powertrain team at Aston Martin requires a Driveline Project Engineer to define a component concept from test data, translate it into a design and take the project through development into production.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

Deliver Driveline System(s) on time into production achieving the following:

  • Quality: Use engineering quality systems (FMEAs, Robustness Studies etc) to identify & contain potential quality concerns
  • Cost: Support Driveline Manager in definition of programme cost targets & work with suppliers to deliver system that achieves these targets
  • Weight: Support Driveline Manager in definition of programme weight targets & manage CAD engineers to design system that achieves targets
  • Function: Generate robust System Design Specification to define system functional targets & deliver components to meet targets. Support Test & Development team with DVP planning & execution & ensure supplier tests are completed on time.
  • Package: Manage CAD engineers to achieve static & dynamic clearance targets, negotiate component change in other areas of Product Development if required to achieve clearances.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent relevant experience. The successful candidate will have some experience of delivering a commodity to production, as well as be able to demonstrate a robust engineering approach.
  • To operate successfully in this role, the candidate should be able to prioritise multiple tasks on a day to day level, must be flexible & able to communicate at all levels. He/she must also be self-motivated & driven to achieve results.
  • Driving licence & Medical clearance to use High speed tracks and Hot and Cold environmental chambers if required to support development activities.
