Description: The Assistant is responsible for the overall day to day operation of the store in the absence of the manager. She/he will also be responsible for overseeing the operation of 8 Dover Street in the absence of the manager. This includes being accountable for the daily staffing and general administrative duties as well as providing leadership in the area of customer service.


He/she must have strong selling skills and will act as a company’s ambassador, presenting its products and services in as positive a light as possible. 
Also, securing new business, and maintaining relationships with customers and acting as intermediary between company and client.

Role summary:

  • To plan and carry out sales activities, so as to maintain and develop sales of N8 Dover Street merchandise in accordance with agreed sales strategy and targets. 
  • To support the Manager and Senior staff 
  • Part time role (3 days a week incl. some weekends)

Key responsibilities:

  • Undertake retail and customer service activities within N8 Dover Street to optimize and exceed sales targets, profitability and customer satisfaction in conjunction with the Manager.
  • To help maintain housekeeping, co-ordination of maintenance and overall security of shop premises.
  • Manage cash and payment systems in accordance with company procedures and policies, at all times with staff and customer safety as the uppermost priority.
  • Plan and implement shop merchandising, layout and customer traffic flow for customer satisfaction in appearance and image.
  • To maintain set standards of in-store merchandising, window display and promotions.
  • Oversee all telephone and Internet queries and ensure effective communication is in place to make customers aware of opening times.
  • Maintain health and safety, security, and emergency systems, capabilities of staff and customer awareness, according to company policy and relevant law as directed.
