Job Purpose: With contracts now exchanged, the company has now commenced work on ‘Phase I’ of the St Athan site which includes the creation of the customer and staff reception areas, administration and management offices and the employee restaurant. ‘Phase II’ will commence in April 2017 when the Company will gain access to the three Ministry of Defence ‘Super Hangars’ that will house the new manufacturing facility We now have a fantastic opportunity to join the Manufacturing Business Office (MBO) team on the St Athan project as Industrial Engineer. The MBO team are responsible for providing industrial engineering and business planning support to both the Manufacturing Engineering and Production teams. This involve resource planning, planning and analysis of production processes and reporting. The role will be based at the Company’s headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire for an initial term and will then relocate to St Athan, South Wales. Initially the position will be involved in the preparation of the new facility and all provisions for the production phase.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
Key responsibilities of the Industrial Engineer will include:

  • Working with the engineering teams to develop detailed and accurate ‘hours per car’ (HPC) schedules
  • Developing and supporting work allocation reports for the HPC schedules and ensuring they are aligned with the process system (Ease)
  • Engage in regular reviews with the Manufacturing Engineering and Production teams to plan and source the deployment of equipment and resources.
  • Develop synthetic time standards using the Ease system based on M2M /UAS
  • Assist in the planning, analysis and control of all study elements related to maximising the efficient use of available resources at the facility

Qualifications & Experience:

  • The successful candidate will hold a degree level qualification in industrial engineering or equivalent. We seek an individual who has worked in a similar environment and can demonstrate knowledge and expertise in managing the headcount planning and extensive industrial engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate excellent team behaviours and strong verbal communication skills along with sound technical knowledge. The ability to negotiate, influence and operate autonomously are critical to the role.
