We’re working in partnership with a global engineering, management and development consultancy that delivers projects across the globe in the Water, Infrastructure, Rail, Nuclear, Oil & Gas and Energy Industries. An opportunity for a technical manager to join our client’s team in Peterborough and help to support their work on various water industry projects.

Your key responsibilities will include:
• Driving excellence in health and safety in design
• Planning the technical aspects of the programme and projects and agreeing every "plan for stage" with the PM
• Delivering the technical aspects of the project
• Agreeing on technical resources required and forecasting and managing project resource costs
• Monitoring technical teams progress on all required deliverables
• Providing technical support during assembly
• Co-ordinating and managing contract requirements relating to design solutions and the interface with construction and commissioning
• Managing key technical stakeholders
• Ensuring that all technical work is undertaken to the correct standards and specifications and ensure rigorous application of the risk and value process and challenging technical solutions to provide best value
• Ensure that all relevant enabling activities are undertaken in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Ensuring that all deliverables are properly checked and approved and appropriate records are kept up-to-date
• Maintaining energy and focus when work is challenging, providing guidance and mentoring and developing staff
 

Person Specification:
• Experienced technical manager with UK water infrastructure experience
• Experience in managing the technical delivery of water or wastewater non-infrastructure projects
• Strong technical focus
• Able to lead and develop staff and ensure that efficient, quality work is delivered within requirements
• Successful track record working in close partnership with clients and contractors in collaborative multi-disciplinary environments
• Proven client liaison and excellent written and verbal communication skills
