Job Purpose: All of the Company’s Internal & External critical operations rely upon the network infrastructure to operate. This includes all critical (and non-critical) Office and Manufacturing operations, Network Infrastructure is the backbone which every service operates from. The network & Server Environments are essentially the heart and veins of the business and no services can operate without these working efficiently, which can result in no productivity for both internal and external customers. This new role will give the department more versatility and provide redundancy across disciplines for Server Management, Network Connectivity and Security for all internal and remote sites, Internet, Phones, Workstations, and Mobile Devices. Included will be the management of the Phone Systems, Wireless Network (including Manufacturing), Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks and provide the business both 3rd/4th Line Support and Technical Monitoring. Additionally, responsibility exists for designing and installing remote access for external suppliers and partners and provide security for partners such as Daimler and their IP. The role also includes responsibility for designing, specifying & procurement of hardware and systems from 3rd party vendors, and establishing an appropriate affordable strategy for the business moving forward.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
Specify, Design, Manage, Maintain & Develop Aston Martins Server and Network Infrastructure

Duties Include:

  • Provide an enterprise class converged voice and data facility
  • Network Security and protection of Daimler IP.
  • Provide 3rd / 4th level support on all network related issues
  • Provide strategic direction in all voice, data and fabric issues to Infrastructure team
  • Design & Documentation of existing estate and improve procedures for updates / change requests scheduling and managing updates / patches
  • Provide Advanced Cisco skills across
  • Call Manager 6.x, 7.x, 8.x
  • Cisco Switches Support/Configuration
  • Cisco Routers Support/Configuration
  • Cisco Wireless
  • Provide Remote VPN access solutions – e.g.) RSA Secure ID, Cisco clients
  • Telephony e.g.) PSTN, ISDN
  • Structured cabling
  • Fibre Connectivity
  • Troubleshooting, monitoring and fine tuning network performance
  • Managing 3rd party global MPLS WAN with QOS
  • Managing 3rd party managed firewalls
  • Provide & manage Documentation of all related processes and procedures
  • Manage Implementation of integrated video conferencing facilities across the business
  • Management of all related hardware maintenance schedules and relevant software licence agreements
  • Design & Project management of new site implementations and expansion / upgrades
  • Specify & Implement network access control
  • Specify & Implement 2FA remote access solution
  • Manage all remote and 3rd party network access controls
  • Specify & Manage Company’s Hyper-V Virtual Server Estate and related Physical Servers
  • Configure and administer Active Directory Database
  • Responsible for upgrading and decommissioning Server environments (Virtual & Physical) as required
  • Create and update Security & Group Policies which are global settings.
  • Manage Azure External Environments
  • Specify, build and manage HP Blade Servers and Enclosures
  • Work with vendors to design, specify and procure affordable solutions for all areas of responsibility.
  • Manage all Planned and unplanned outages & report to management
  • Manage network perimeter security through advanced proactive firewall monitoring and configuration including firewalls from multiple vendors: cisco, juniper, Palo Alto


  • Proactive server monitoring to ensure continued up time and identify and act upon issues
  • Monitor 3rd line call queues and action open tickets
  • Provide training and mentoring to first and second line support

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant extensive experience preferred
  • Cisco CCNA or above (including certifications for Cisco Firewall)
  • Large Campus and multisite experience
  • Advanced Skill Level with previous experience of Cisco Technologies.
  • Advanced Experience with WAN, WLAN and LAN in a large production environment.
  • Experience of Both Physical and Virtual environments, including Blade Environments and related security controls
  • Current Microsoft Certification
  • Keyboard skills required
  • Installation of applicable infrastructure hardware
