Job Purpose: This new position will ensure the successful operational performance of the Q Advanced Operations team. Key duties will include cross-functional resource planning, recruitment, maintenance and growth of the Special Operations Facility, and creating the strategy for growth within the department.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
The key responsibilities and tasks of the role include:

  • Responsible for the creation, agreement and evaluation of the QAO Strategy Growth Plan for the next 5 years to ensure QAO profitability target of £30-40M per annum, including:
  • Creation of the product lifecycle strategy for Special Projects and Q.
  • Creation, implementation and management of QAO Specials Service and Track day programmes (£2-3M per annum new business opportunity not currently in company forecast)
  • Management of QAO facilities growth and maintenance, including AMR Brand Centres
  • Responsibility to create an efficient and world class organisation - with resource planning, development and training for the department, including Workshop, Programme Management, Engineering and Administration
  • Support department management, Organisation structure/resource, Overhead budget signoff and CapEx expenditure
  • Representation of QAO to internal and external clients.
  • Second to Senior Programmes Manager and supporting Operations & Technical Directors for Concept program planning.
  • Responsible for a team of up to 20 Technician heads, including supervision and workload planning.
  • Responsible for creating the plan and implementation of Service Programmes and Track Events, in support of Special Operations growth plan and linked to establishment of AMR Brand Centres.
  • Create, agree and manage the facilities budget and oversee the facilitation of the Q Advanced Operations Office and Workshop and ensure that the building is optimised at all times, in line with budget (c£1M budget)
  • Responsible for creation, implementation and management of Service Programmes and Track Events, in support of Special Operations growth plan across all QAO sites
  • Manage and create the plan to deliver capability to deliver the Resource, Facilities and Process required to achieve QAO EBITDA targets
  • Responsible for establishing and ensuring compliance through monitoring and training, with ISO9001 & ISO14001 throughout the operation of the department.

Qualifications & Experience:
The successful applicant will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Extensive operational or project management experience
  • Experienced in effective resource planning
  • Awareness of AML Build Processes
  • ISO9001 & ISO14001 knowledge
  • An awareness of Aston Martin Production System would be an advantage
  • Computer Literate essential.
  • Degree or Higher diploma qualified or equivalent preferable.
