Responsibilities:

  • The scope of works includes the tunnel ventilation, evacuation walkway, CMS support brackets, sump flooring, pressure rated doors, TVS support steelwork, cable pulling, CMS install and various miscellaneous metalwork items.
  • Co-ordinate the construction activity for all M&E works in one of 6 sections of the Crossrail C610 project.
  • Ensure compliance to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and regulations to ensure construction phases are safe and in compliance with the Client and Joint Venture requirements.
  • Actively champion Cultural Behavioural Management and develop with the supply chain
  • Drive culture / innovation to achieve an exemplar and collaborative working environment.
  • Co-ordination with other disciplines to ensure no clashes.
  • Schedule the construction in logical steps to meet budget / programme.
  • Can manage the daily ‘Just in Time’ delivery requirements for numerous work faces
  • Responsible for the co-ordination and recording of routine plant, equipment and tool checks
  • Keep records of daily operations, produce daily records and report weekly the progress on site. Raise any warning signs or issues that could affect the programme.
  • Carry out Inspection and Audit reviews to monitor compliance with safety codes, technical specifications and other regulations.
  • Liaison with stakeholders and other disciplines / projects. Cross discipline / projects learning and efficiencies. No surprises to the stakeholders.

Educational Requirements:

  • CSCS card
  • SSSTS (Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme)

Knowledge / Experience:

  • Over 8 years’ experience
  • Technically competent in either mechanical or electrical
  • Experienced in solving site problems
  • Track record of working on rail and tunnel projects
  • Capable of producing basic programmes and have an input into programmes
  • Capable of managing routine meetings
  • Capable of producing work schedules and assigning works to the metalwork teams
  • Can motivate teams to increase productivity and meet work goals
  • Proactive in contributing to improve designs and installation processes
  • Can assist in the production / review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Can confidently deliver Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Toolbox Talks and Start of Shift Briefings to operatives and ensure compliance with these
  • Self-motivated, proactive and motivates the staff around them
  • Excellent man management and communication skills
  • Ensures good commercial practice
