Several vacancies have arisen for Build Technicians on a permanent staff basis, to work with our well respected luxury automotive client based in the Northamptonshire area.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a niche automotive manufacturer who specialise in the design, re-model and build of iconic vehicle lines from globally renowned brands.

The purpose of the role is to construct prototypes and final production models to client and customer specifications.

Main duties include:

  • Examining vehicle specifications for associated build projects
  • Manufacture/sub-assembly of components.
  • Manually collect and check components from storage area or check in house manufactured parts where necessary.
  • Assemble components and fit to vehicle in the required sequence and to process planning sheets.
  • Identify, investigate, by means of key task monitor sheets, any improvements to, or mismatches / failures of, parts or operations that will assist in both product &/or process quality improvements.
  • Fabrication covering both Aluminium and Steel work.
  • Support quality, productivity and process improvements initiatives eg Kaizan, 6 Sigma initiatives.
  • General machining capabilities to include lathe, vertical miller etc.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • The successful candidate will have completed an automotive qualification/apprenticeship (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in the assembly of prototype, motorsport or high end luxury vehicles would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Must be able to work to tight deadlines without compromising build/assembly quality
  • Must have had experience working with and without drawings to develop mechanical installation solutions.
  • Have some knowledge in body assembly using adhesive and non-adhesive joining processes.
  • The right candidate should be comfortable working as part of a team or by themselves.
  • Can follow and understand instructions and has a particular eye for detail.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
