Due to new project awards, an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to join an award winning consultancy based in the North West.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • You will be expected to have experience of the civil structures sector, and will be required to have sound knowledge of design in common building materials including steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
  • Good communication skills are required to achieve the successful delivery of projects in a team environment and we will encourage personal professional development with the successful candidate being either chartered or working towards chartered status with the ICE or IStructE.


Role responsibilities include:

  • Successful contribution to and delivery of projects in a team environment
  • Including personal responsibility and ownership of projects
  • Technical delivery of a project
  • Production of deliverable to programme timescales
  • Monitoring of costs
  • Assisting with invoicing and any change management
  • Input to proposals to provide professional services
  • Supervision, knowledge sharing and mentoring of less experienced members of the team
  • Interpretation and application of relevant client, industry and GHD standards

Person Specification:

  • Honours degree in relevant discipline required
  • Accreditation to, or working towards, chartered status would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of design in common building materials including steel, concrete, timber and masonry
  • Knowledge of BIM processes

Essential Experience:

  • Previous experience of working within a consultancy environment, ideally in the Water, Chemicals or Nuclear Industry.
