We are assisting a leading engineering & project management contractor that specialises in the delivery of projects in highly regulated industries that include defence, oil & gas, nuclear and research.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of contractual position and providing subsequent guidance and advice to the Project Manager / Commercial lead
  • Client valuations
  • Preparation and submission of monthly applications for payment
  • Negotiation of allowable cost and mitigation of disallowed cost.
  • Preparations of ‘Estimates at Completion’ and cost accruals.
  • Change management;
  • Preparation of early warnings
  • Notification of variations
  • Preparation and negotiation of quotations
  • Supply chain procurement and management;
  • Assessment of subcontractor applications for payment and negotiation of associated final accounts.
  • Subcontract change management
  • Internal Reporting;
  • Forecasting for, and preparation of monthly Cost Value Reconciliations
  • Monthly presentation of MPR’s to the Commercial and Operations Managers

Person Specification:

  • Working towards a Degree in Quantity Surveying or a commercial related subject.
  • Candidate has demonstrable experience in some aspects of the above Key Accountabilities section.
  • Candidates must be eligible for SC clearance. Clearance will be sponsored by the Company.
  • Flexibility to travel to other UK offices and sites on occasion as necessary
  • PC literate in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel
  • Articulate with good written communication

Essential Experience: 

  • Working towards a Degree in Quantity Surveying or a commercial related subject
  • Demonstrable experience of the key responsibilities as detailed above
