Role

A chemical manufacturing company is looking for a Site Planner with demonstrable ability in planning work packages and hands-on experience in a chemical, process or oil & gas industries. The successful candidate will join their team in the North West on a full time, permanent basis.

Minimum Requirements

Job Description

A chemical manufacturing company is looking for a Site Planner with demonstrable ability in planning work packages and hands-on experience in a chemical, process or oil & gas industries. The successful candidate will join their team in the North West on a full time, permanent basis.

Responsibilities

As a Site Planner, you will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Plan packages of Engineering maintenance work ensuring safety and efficiency standards are met.
  • Manage SAP work lists and arrange meetings with plant personnel.
  • Use systems such as PACE and SAP to ensure all equipment, resource, materials and information needed to execute the job are identified. Including preparing, ordering and analysing multi discipline job methods for engineering maintenance.
  • Integrate a number of multi-discipline jobs into an Event plan so as to optimise the utilisation of resources using Primavera P6 or TCard depending upon size of Event (to be defined by Planning Manager). Co-ordinate smaller work packages to ensure that work is completed to plan.
  • Compile scopes from third parties, produce job methods as required, order materials via SAP, produce plans, ensure external resources are arranged and POs are placed, co-ordinate activities during execution.
  • Obtain technical records and information to support job methods from a number of sources; these should in principal be supplied by Engineers or Operations.
  • Set up files and keep the records in an orderly manner.
  • Management of technical information including specifications provided by engineers.
  • Provide cost estimates for the execution of jobs that have been analysed, where necessary e.g. scaffolding, lagging, painting. This will also require gaining ledger approval using the ledger database, creating purchase orders in SAP.

Requirements

  • Practical hands on experience of maintenance work.
  • Previous working experience in the oil & gas, process, chemical manufacturing sector.
  • Strong experience of planning, task, overhaul and maintenance systems.
  • Ability to use SAP, PACE or other maintenance systems.
  • Practical experience of safe systems of work, including Site Instructions, Risk Assessments, etc.
  • Full working knowledge of contractor methodology.
  • Knowledge of High SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) standards with the ability to prioritise and manage the daily workload of diverse multi trade jobs while maintaining these standards.
  • Full driving licence.
