Rolls-Royce have opened a new manufacturing facility in Bristol where components for new, more efficient jet engines will be built, securing 150 jobs.

The manufacturing centre represents a £25m investment by the company, and will use low-energy, low-emission processes, as well as maximising raw materials to reduce waste.

The main purpose of Rolls-Royce’s new advanced facility will be to manufacture fan blades and cases for its new UltraFan jet engines, designed to reduce CO2 by 25% compared to previous jet engines. The revolutionary new design is part of the drive within aviation towards achieving lower emission outputs.
