Aston Martin have finally unveiled their first SUV, the DBX, in full for the first time at a special event in Beijing, China.

While the concept of an SUV has been seen as a departure from the classic grand tourers and racing cars synonymous with Aston Martin, the final production-ready design of the exterior and interior embody the style and sophistication the world has come to expect from the iconic British marque.

The styling has been paired with the same 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine as the DB11, providing the capability to go from 0 to 62mph in 4.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 181mph. The handling pack has tested to its limits in the harsh conditions of Sweden’s Flurheden proving ground to make the DBX a true rough-and-tumble SUV.

But the DBX isn’t just built to thrill – It’s also been designed to be practical. Aston Martin recently revealed 11 accessory packages to suit various lifestyles, from the pet package with dog-friendly extras through to the snow package with ski rack and boot warmers.

And there’s plenty of space to take the DBX on adventures, with 632 litres of boot space, which tops the 484 litres of the Bentley Bentayga and the 616 litres of the Lamborghini Urus.

Find out the full specifications and innovative features of the DBX on Aston Martin's website.

Built in Wales

The DBX is being built at Aston Martin’s newest factory in St Athan, Wales. The super-hangars of the former MOD base will also soon be the home of the upcoming all-electric Lagonda range, and will create 750 direct jobs in the region.

Back in March 2016, Millbank were involved in a recruitment day at St Athan for Aston Martin, attracting 3,000 candidates in one day.

At a price starting at £158,000, the first deliveries of the Aston Martin DBX to customers will be in Q2 2020. The DBX is on sale now.
