Chemicals Northwest is an industry-led organisation that connect chemistry industries across the North West through networking, events and online activity. Its long-established quarterly “Elements” magazine contains member news and specialist features on topical chemical industry issues.

Millbank recently joined as member of Chemicals Northwest. At the Chemicals Northwest Breakfast meeting on 5th June, Senior Consultant Chris Hill introduced Millbank’s long history in the region’s chemicals and process engineering industry going back to the days of ICI to help businesses secure contract and permanent staff resource.

IR35 Changes Coming

In the article, Millbank highlighted the changes facing many chemical companies in the North West (and across the UK) when IR35 is extended to the private sector in April 2020.

Just as we did in the lead up to April 2017, when changes to IR35 rules were first introduced to our public sector clients, we are now actively assisting our private sector clients with preparations to mitigate risks once responsibility for determining off payroll status is shifted from the worker to the end client.

Need Help Preparing for IR35 Ahead of April 2020?

If your medium to large private sector business relies on contractors or off payroll workers, you will need to carefully consider your approach to IR35 changes coming in April 2020.

Having sought information and advice from HMRC, our professional body APSCo (Association of Professional Staffing Companies) and our legal & payroll partners, we have a comprehensive plan of action to ensure that the specialists needed are still available and companies still have access to a flexible workforce to deliver projects.
