Engineering contractor Balfour Beatty have been awarded a contract to replace a 400kV substation at Littlebrook Power Station in Kent.

The £50m, five-year deal is an important step in National Grid’s revitalisation of the National Transmission Network in the South East of England.

The contract covers the design and construction of the large substation, from cabling and overhead line connections to the grid through to the switchgear protecting the substation.
