Today is a truly special day at Millbank, as we celebrate a milestone that speaks volumes about dedication, character, and community: Albie is marking his 25th work anniversary.
A quarter of a century of commitment is an incredible achievement in any career, and we are immensely proud and fortunate to have had Albie as a cornerstone of our team for all these years.
To say Albie is the heart of our office operations would be an understatement. He is the go-to person who ensures our work environment isn't just functional, but welcoming and supportive. From managing the building to lending a hand with a complex problem, Albie is woven into the fabric of our daily lives at Millbank.
But his impact is best described by the people who work with him every day. We asked the team to share a few words, and the response was overwhelming.
Sean highlighted Albie's willingness to go the extra mile: "What an accomplishment Albie! You're a pleasure to work with (and have a pint with on the works outings). You're always happy to go above and beyond, even if it's just advice on where to get your car fixed given you have some great contacts or to lend a hand where needed. Here's to a few more years before you decide to put your feet up!"
Jason focused on his positive influence and dedication: “Huge congratulations Albie for your 25th Working Anniversary, what a fantastic achievement! Your dedication to your work, positive helpful attitude, not to mention great character and sense of humour is truly admirable, and we would hate to be without you! And Jo perfectly captured the unique character he brings to the office: "Happy 25-year work anniversary, Albie! Nigel shared a detailed (and hilarious) look at Albie's unofficial job description: "For 25 years Albert's been the office’s go-to hero whether it’s constantly putting up bunting, unblocking toilets that defy the laws of plumbing, tending to the garden with the panache of Percy Thrower, taking on the mantle of chief traffic warden (woe betide if you don't park between the lines) or leading the charge on every night out (and occasionally leading people astray). Albert is the heartbeat of Millbank, reliable, unstoppable, and somehow still cheerful (most of the time) despite everything that's throw his way. Here’s to you, Albert, may the bunting always hang straight, the loos flow gracefully, and your rum glass never be empty! All the best pal on a landmark achievement. I'm sure we can squeeze another five years out of you before you hang up the loft key for the final time."
Sara gave him a new, and very fitting, job title: "Celebrating 25 years of our CFO - (chief fixing officer) Albie 😊 Here’s to more years of heroic hammers and turning gorilla tape miracles into works of art! It’s a pleasure working with you Albie, the stories you have told and the endless laughs we have shared. Thanks for everything Albie and cheers to many more years."
